Minister of Oil & Gas, outlines the latest developments in Bahrain’s oil and gas sector


Bahrain British Business Forum’s (BBBF) Special Interest Group (SIG) for Oil, Gas and Energy sector professionals recently hosted a meeting at the Capital Club. The event, sponsored by OAK Group Holdings (OAK), featured His Excellency Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa, Minister of Oil & Gas, as the keynote speaker.

Mr. Gareth R Brown, OAK Group CEO, opened the meeting for BBBF Chairman Mr. Khalid Al Zayani OBE, whom welcomed the guests of honour, H.E. Shaikh Mohamed and H.E. Mr. Simon Martin CMG, the British Ambassador to Bahrain, to the gathering. More than 100 BBBF members and their guests attended the event.

In his address, H.E. Shaikh Mohamed discussed the current structure and the latest developments within the oil and gas sector in Bahrain. He shared valuable information on NOGA’s approach to fuel the kingdom’s future, business opportunities created and the sector’s contribution to the national economy. His Excellency also updated attendees on NOGA’s upcoming plans in the kingdom and said that the projects were progressing rapidly. His Excellency also discussed the expected timelines and financing strategies adopted for the projects.

The meeting concluded with a Q&A session. On behalf of the BBBF and the attendees both Mr. Al Zayani OBE and Mr. Gareth Brown expressed their appreciation and sincere thanks to His Excellency for his informative presentation.

The BBBF’s SIG for Oil, Gas and Energy professionals aims to facilitate networking and exchange of information amongst industry colleagues and is sponsored by local Bahrain company OAK Group Holdings (OAK), with leading capability, Upstream, Midstream and Downstream within the Oil & Gas industry, as well as leading edge patented technologies for delivering renewable energy solutions. The BBBF has a total of eight SIGs covering projects & construction, banking & financial services, ICT and legal sectors; as well as hospitality, young professionals and women in business. The SIGs offer BBBF members an important medium for connecting with industry peers, exchanging knowledge and discussing topics relevant to their respective industry sector.
