BCCI HOSTS THE PRIVATE SECTOR ROUNDTABLE WITH BAHRAINI MPS


The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) held yesterday at Bait Al Tijjar a Roundtable event sponsored by the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S Department of Commerce in cooperation with the Council of Representatives and the American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain (AmCham). The event was inaugurated with keynotes by BCCI’s first vice-chairman Mr. Khalid Al Zayani, the American ambassador to Bahrain H.E. William V. Roebuck, the Deputy speaker of the Council of Representatives H.E. Ali Al Aradi, and Mr. Christopher Day the Democratic Deputy Staff Director for the U.S Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.

The event deliberated about the national economy of Bahrain, its challenges, and the way forward, and underlined the importance of collaboration in legislating laws. It stressed the role of the Bahrain Chamber as a representative of the private sector and shed a spot light on the importance of learning from the experiences of developed countries and replicating their experiences in a way that fits the uniqueness of Bahrain.
